Welcome to the Jacksonville SQL Server Users Group

The Jacksonville SQL Server Users Group (JSSUG) was founded by Brian Knight in January 2003, creating a community for database developers and administrators in the Jacksonville area. The goal of JSSUG is to share knowledge, best practices, and network. Today, it is a community focusing on development, administration, and business intelligence. Free meetings are open to the public every month. Meetings include presentations, technology announcements, local job opportunities, and quick brainstorming/guidance for users experiencing difficulty. An after event for additional networking, shop talk, and users desiring more detailed guidance for specific challenges is available following the meeting.

In an ongoing attempt to make the content presented useful to our members we start each meeting with a short Q&A session.  Unless noted in the meeting notes the schedule for each meeting will be:

    One hesitation many organizations have had with migrating databases to Azure is that SSIS still needed to run on a server requiring a SQL Server license.  But with the recent announcement of the preview of SSIS in Azure, Microsoft has cleared this portion of the migration path.  

    Come to this session to learn how to set up SSIS in Azure, move your existing SSIS packages, and execute packages from the cloud. 

    Biography:  

    My name is Bob Rubocki.  I am a Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing Consultant.  I have spent most of my 18 year career working in some aspect of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and Data Integration, both in industry and as a consultant.

Bob is a Senior Consultant at Pragmatic Works and a Microsoft Certified Professional. He has spent most of his career working in Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, and Data Integration, both in industry and as a consultant. He has implemented solutions in financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and consumer goods industries. Bob has spoken at SQL Saturday, user group events, and webinar sessions.
